Description

Senior Backend Software Engineer role on the Central Order Management System team delivering complex, production-ready code solutions. You will support build and deployment pipelines and, when needed, diagnose and resolve production support/on-call issues. You will contribute to system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, application performance, and end-to-end support.

Responsibilities

• Work on technology projects/tasks with limited guidance
• Write production-ready code and tests aligned to acceptance criteria, including edge cases, security, and error handling
• Create, configure, and support build and deployment pipelines
• Lead coding/configuration/testing/debugging for existing and new systems to deliver quality features and fixes
• Lead production support/on-call debugging and troubleshooting for highly complex team services
• Drive process/tool changes at the team level; recommend improvements aligned to organizational goals
• Critically review epics: identify dependencies, break down and prioritize work, and align with stakeholders
• Anticipate and communicate blockers, delays, and cost risks; clarify expectations across parties
• Lead team ceremonies and larger team efforts
• Foster documentation and knowledge sharing; mentor others
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and establish action items
• Ensure effective system monitoring for team services

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer
• Strong development experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience building distributed systems, APIs, and microservices
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience designing, testing, and deploying production-grade applications
• Strong automated testing knowledge (unit, integration, end-to-end)
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows using LLMs
• Computer Science degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
