Description

Lead secure and high-quality backend software development within an agile team, including system design, development, testing, and production support. Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering with consistent validation standards for correctness, performance, and security. Improve operational stability by automating/remediating recurring issues and by evaluating vendor and internal architectural approaches.

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions with design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Develop secure, production-quality code; review and debug others’ code
• Lead AI-assisted engineering adoption (code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support)
• Apply Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve automation value
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues
• Lead evaluation sessions for external vendors/startups and internal teams on architectural applicability

Requirements

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• 5+ years hands-on software engineering including system design, backend development, testing, and production support
• Proficiency in backend technologies (Java, Springboot, and/or Node.js) and experience building microservices-based applications
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Ability to independently solve design and functionality challenges with minimal supervision
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use (data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency and security expectations) and ability to coach safe adoption
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of Agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated proficiency within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile)
• Practical cloud-native experience
