Description

Build backend microservices and APIs independently within established architectural patterns. Deliver production-quality Java/Spring Boot code that is tested, observable, and documented, and actively participate in code reviews and production issue resolution. Work with CI/CD, AWS-deployed containerized services, database fundamentals, and basic distributed observability.

Responsibilities

• Implement backend microservices and APIs within established architectural patterns

• Write production-quality code: tested, observable, documented, and ready to operate

• Participate in code reviews and provide actionable feedback

• Diagnose and resolve production issues with appropriate urgency and communication

• Identify scope gaps and technical risks early and raise them

• Apply team engineering practices consistently (CI/CD, observability, API design, testing)

• Use AI-assisted development tooling as part of the workflow

Requirements

• Working experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend microservice development

• RESTful API design and integration experience

• Cloud deployment familiarity (AWS preferred), deploying and operating containerized services

• Delivery pipeline experience: source control, CI/CD workflows, automated testing

• Basic observability: structured logs, dashboards, understanding distributed traces

• Database fundamentals: queries, indexes, and data storage pattern selection

• Version control and collaborative workflows: branching, pull requests, code review
