Description

You will design and lead the technical direction for modern Java systems, with a focus on microservices and Event-Driven Architecture. The role combines architecture ownership, integration/API design, and hands-on participation through Java development, code reviews, and mentoring. You’ll collaborate with Product Owners and teams to turn business needs into scalable and secure solutions, supported by AI/agentic AI development tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as System Architect and technology lead for project teams

• Design and evolve system and microservice architecture

• Participate in software development and implementation in Java

• Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to define requirements and propose technology solutions

• Define and develop architectural, integration, and quality standards

• Design and oversee integrations between systems and APIs

• Perform code reviews and support high code quality

• Mentor and develop technical capabilities of developer teams

• Support resolution of complex technical problems

• Ensure scalability, performance, and security

• Work with architecture, DevOps, and other Scrum teams

• Assess technical risks and support strategic technology decisions

• Use cloud environments in the designed solutions

• Support development processes using AI tools

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and building web systems

• Very strong Java knowledge confirmed by commercial experience

• Experience designing microservice architecture and distributed systems

• Very strong knowledge of architectural and integration patterns

• Experience designing APIs and integrating systems

• Practical knowledge of DDD (Domain-Driven Design)

• Very strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL query optimization

• Experience designing and implementing Event-Driven Architecture solutions

• Knowledge of observability and end-to-end monitoring

• Experience with code review, mentoring, and technical support for teams

• Ability to collaborate across multiple technical teams and contribute to architectural decisions

• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes

• English at least B2
