• Role: System Architect (hands-on Tech Lead)

• Work model: Hybrid (3 days/week on client site in Warsaw, 2 days remote)

Description

You will act as a Tech Lead in a Scrum team, with active coding ~75% of your time in Java. The role focuses on designing and evolving system and microservices architecture, including API/integration design and event-driven patterns, while ensuring observability, security, performance, and scalability. You will also mentor the team through code reviews and technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Tech Lead for a Scrum team (technical direction and architectural decisions)

• Actively develop features in Java to deliver business requirements

• Design and evolve architecture for systems and microservices

• Collaborate with Product Owner and business to translate requirements into technical solutions

• Define and enforce technical standards (coding, architecture, integrations)

• Lead code reviews and maintain code quality

• Mentor developers and support troubleshooting

• Design and oversee system and API integrations

• Ensure performance, security, and scalability of solutions

• Coordinate across teams (Scrum teams, architecture, DevOps, integrations)

• Participate in technology decision-making and risk assessment

• Use cloud solutions (preferably Azure)

• Use Agentic AI / AI to automate parts of the development process and improve productivity

Requirements

• Strong Java production experience with active coding responsibility (~75%)

• 5+ years in designing and building web systems

• Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems

• Strong understanding of architectural and integration patterns

• Experience designing APIs and integrating systems

• Knowledge of DDD (Domain-Driven Design)

• Practical SQL and relational database knowledge, including query optimization

• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture

• End-to-end observability experience

• Experience with code reviews, mentoring, and technical team leadership

• Experience collaborating across teams and contributing to technology decisions and risk assessment

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• English proficiency (minimum B2)
