Description

A hands-on Java Architect role acting as Tech Lead in a Scrum team to design and evolve stable, scalable microservices and distributed systems. You’ll translate business requirements into Java implementations, lead architectural and integration decisions (including API design), and raise quality through standards, code reviews, and mentoring. Collaboration with the Product Owner, business stakeholders, and other teams—plus cloud usage (preferably Azure) and Agentic AI in SDLC—is a core part of the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction; make architecture decisions
• Actively implement business requirements using Java
• Design and develop system and microservices architecture
• Work with Product Owner and business to clarify requirements and map them to technical solutions
• Define and enforce technical standards for coding, architecture, and integrations
• Lead code review activities and ensure code/solution quality
• Mentor and develop the software team; support troubleshooting
• Design and oversee integrations and APIs
• Ensure performance, security, and scalability
• Collaborate cross-team (other Scrum teams, architecture, DevOps, integrations)
• Contribute to technology decisions and risk assessment
• Use cloud capabilities (preferably Azure)
• Use Agentic AI / AI in the development process for automation and productivity improvements

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and building systems (web)
• Strong hands-on Java experience (architecture role with active coding)
• Spring Boot
• PostgreSQL and SQL (including query optimization)
• Experience building microservices architectures and distributed systems
• Knowledge of architectural and integration patterns
• Practical API design and system integration experience
• Practical experience with DDD (Domain-Driven Design)
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Experience with event-driven architecture
• End-to-end observability experience
• Experience with code review, mentoring, and technical team leadership
• Cross-team collaboration experience
• Containerization/orchestration experience: Docker, Kubernetes
• English level: at least B2
• Availability for hybrid work: 3 days/week in Warsaw office
