Description

Join the Electrical Products and Services team to design and continuously improve resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution products used in AWS data centers. You will lead product design, development, and qualification for critical electrical power distribution equipment, including diesel generators, enclosures, and aftertreatment systems, and coordinate integration with related electrical equipment. Work with global teams, suppliers, and field commissioning to validate installations and performance through prototypes, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds.

Responsibilities

• Solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design
• Lead new product design, development, and qualification of electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers
• Specify equipment and components with global suppliers/manufacturers to support tier 2–3 supply chain resiliency
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and federal/state/municipal requirements and building codes across countries through appropriate testing
• Validate designs via prototype, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds; conduct DFx and value engineering; update design and documentation
• Partner with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance
• Support manufacturing activities for new products across concurrent projects and geographies
• Provide leadership within internal and external product development teams

Requirements

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment/facilities
