Description

Design and develop resilient, cost-effective electrical power distribution products and systems for data centers. You will lead product design, development, and qualification for critical electrical distribution equipment, drive continuous improvements, and communicate technical direction to senior leadership. You will validate designs through prototype and first-of-kind builds, and support testing, installation validation, manufacturing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design
• Lead new product design, development, and qualification of electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers
• Develop Capex and Opex budgets with vendors, prototyping, testing, and specialized tooling needs
• Specify electrical equipment and components with global suppliers to ensure tier 2–3 supply chain resiliency
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and federal/state/municipal requirements and building codes across countries through appropriate testing
• Validate designs via prototype, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds; conduct DFx and value engineering analysis; update design and documentation
• Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance
• Support manufacturing activities for concurrent new-product projects in multiple geographical locations
• Provide technical leadership within the product development team and with internal/external partners

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas)
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
• Ability to work within teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
