Description

Lead an engineering team building and deploying the next generation of data center electrical infrastructure for AWS. You will collaborate with internal AWS builders and third-party manufacturers to develop infrastructure solutions, evaluate design changes, and ensure requirements and specifications support reliable operation. You will also support operations via failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance/troubleshooting guidance, and procedure reviews for electrical issues.

• Provide engineering recommendations despite uncertainty
• Use data-driven, detail-oriented approaches to problem-solving
• Collaborate globally with electrical equipment suppliers and manufacturers on new technology development
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones
• Communicate complex electrical systems clearly and concisely
• Support operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and review operating procedures for electrical issues
• Incorporate customer feedback to improve product reliability and availability
• Contribute to a global knowledge base and drive continuous improvement at scale

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or experience working in electrical engineering
• 7+ years in data center design and electrical/related product development
• 5+ years managing teams of 40+ associates with a proven track record of success and growth
• Experience leading product design of electrical products
• Extensive understanding of data center electrical infrastructure solutions
• Knowledge of manufacturing practices that ensure product quality
• Ability to lead development of detailed electrical equipment specifications and evaluate the merit and risks of design changes
