Description

You will combine business and systems analysis with product ownership, with a strong focus on technical understanding of complex systems including data, integrations, APIs, and existing business logic. You will analyze the current solution, map operational processes, and define the target state and prioritized delivery backlog. You will also support UAT and go-live documentation, including user training materials.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the existing solution by reviewing Java/Spring code, Oracle schemas, PL/SQL, configurations, and data samples to reconstruct business rules, validations, message handling, and edge cases

• Map current operational processes via interviews, shadowing, and artifact review; identify pain points, workarounds, and risks

• Produce As-Is documentation: process maps, integration and data-flow diagrams, business-rule catalog, and gap analysis

• Design Target (To-Be) processes including exception handling, operational monitoring, and analytics/reporting use cases (enabled by Databricks)

• Define portals and operational tooling: user roles, user journeys, screen-level functional specifications, wireframes, and the data/APIs each view depends on

• Specify business rules, data mappings, and integration behavior with architects and engineers for unambiguous implementation and testing

• Define transition and cutover aspects: migration scope, parallel run and cutover scenarios, fallback procedures, and business acceptance criteria

• Own and prioritize the product backlog (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and scope trade-offs)

• Run workshops and act as the main functional point of contact for client stakeholders

• Ensure non-functional business needs are reflected (availability, performance, auditability, data protection)

• Support UAT, accept delivered functionality, and prepare process documentation and user training ahead of go-live

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Systems Analyst

• Proven ability to perform As-Is / To-Be analysis for legacy modernization, migration, or integration projects

• Ability to read code (ideally Java/Spring) and write SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL) to understand existing logic

• Strong process modeling and documentation skills (BPMN, swimlanes, data-flow/integration diagrams)

• Experience defining portals/internal tools from the business side (roles, journeys, wireframes such as Figma/Miro, functional specs)

• Understanding of cloud architectures and REST API integrations; experience with Databricks or similar data platforms

• Hands-on backlog management: user stories and testable acceptance criteria (Jira/Confluence or equivalent)

• Comfort working with business-critical operational systems where downtime/errors have impact

• Experience using AI assistants to speed up analysis, documentation, and code comprehension

• Excellent English communication and facilitation skills (C1), able to lead workshops with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
