The Cardiovascular Key Account Manager (KAM) reports into a Cardiovascular Accounts Director and is responsible for strategic execution across assigned key health system accounts in inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Description

The Cardiovascular KAM assesses the account business environment and plans/executes actions to drive success for Amgen Cardiovascular products. The role develops compliant account plans, builds relationships with key provider and institutional decision-makers, ensures institutional availability, and leads initiatives that enable sustainable utilization. It also monitors account performance and market dynamics and provides field intelligence to internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic lead for assigned key accounts and execute compliant, innovative engagement strategies for priority providers
  • Ensure institutional availability across inpatient and ambulatory care settings
  • Lead implementation initiatives that support sustainable institution/system utilization
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account plans aligned to the cardiovascular business unit strategy
  • Routinely meet with opinion leaders (e.g., Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, P&T Committee)
  • Present MAC approved data/messages and ensure compliant delivery
  • Drive appropriate utilization of approved cardiovascular products and coordinate pull-through and access
  • Monitor aligned accounts, business performance, and market dynamics; identify drivers/barriers
  • Coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams, including Sales Representatives, District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Directors, and reimbursement/access specialists
  • Coordinate approved home office engagement with customers in partnership with matrix and alliance teams
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers (hospital pharmacy, lipid/heart failure clinical and quality directors, hospital finance)
  • Coordinate with Access Specialists to support open access to the Amgen portfolio
  • Provide field intelligence and recommendations to Business Analytics, Brand, and Market Access teams

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of sales and/or related account management experience, or Master’s degree & 4 years, or Bachelor’s degree & 6 years
  • Ability to influence, lead without authority, and drive impact
  • Ability to identify key staff/departments that influence cardiovasc utilization and maintain/grow relationships
  • Ability to analyze and interpret clinic economics/financial performance and draw insights from data sources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and communication (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
