Description

Build and lead the analytical engine for a multi-billion-dollar consumer credit card portfolio, enabling profitable, resilient growth. Architect financial models to project full P&L and balance sheet impacts under economic and regulatory scenarios, and translate outputs into actionable insights for executive leadership. Lead and develop a quantitative team while partnering across Risk and Finance and supporting internal audit and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a quantitative analyst team; own performance management and succession planning
  • Serve as the expert on complex quantitative models and advanced statistical analysis
  • Architect and own financial models for long-range strategic planning (P&L and balance sheet impacts)
  • Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity testing on key drivers such as interest rates, credit losses, new account volume, and regulatory capital requirements
  • Translate model results into clear “so-what” narratives for executives and decision-making on products and portfolio actions
  • Deliver data-driven presentations to senior/executive management
  • Partner cross-functionally with Risk, Finance, and the Business for alignment and execution
  • Act as a contact for internal audit and external regulators regarding capital and financial projections

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in financial services or management consulting, with emphasis on credit risk, capital management, and financial planning
  • Expert knowledge of consumer banking products, especially credit cards: P&L drivers, risk/return dynamics, and KPIs
  • Deep practical knowledge of capital and balance sheet frameworks including CCAR, CECL, Basel III Endgame, and Recovery & Resolution Planning
  • Experience developing and implementing forecasting models for balance sheet and P&L components
  • Demonstrated leadership of quantitative teams and ability to derive actionable insights from complex risk/reward trade-offs
  • Strong project management skills and ability to deliver complex analytics under tight deadlines
  • High proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Hands-on experience with statistical programming languages (SAS, Python, or R)
  • Large-scale data platform experience (cloud data warehouses, Hadoop/Spark) is highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline; Master’s in a quantitative field or MBA in Finance strongly preferred
