Senior Interior Designer (3D, Furniture & Product Design)

Senior

Bay Harbor Islands, FL

Quick Facts

  • Role: Senior Interior Designer (3D, Furniture & Product Design)
  • Focus: Concept design through rapid 3D modeling, furniture/product sensibility, FF&E, and visualization

Description

You’ll lead concept design during early phases by rapidly creating iterative 3D models and producing both 3D and 2D materials that help the team visualize and test spaces before implementation. You’ll bring a strong furniture and product design sensibility, modeling furniture and interior elements—from built-in banquettes and millwork to entire amenity spaces—so ideas can be evaluated quickly and accurately. This is a hands-on role where you iterate, refine, and turn concepts into presentation- and fabrication-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop interior concepts through fast, iterative 3D modeling for spatial ideas, furniture arrangements, proportions, materials, and design alternatives
  • Translate sketches, references, and early creative direction into compelling 3D studies for quick evaluation
  • Design at multiple scales: complete amenity environments and individual furniture/interior elements (built-in banquettes, millwork, lighting elements, custom features)
  • Apply furniture/product sensibility to form, proportion, ergonomics, materiality, and construction
  • Create FF&E concepts and layouts that shape atmosphere, community, privacy, flexibility, and space use
  • Produce 3D and 2D design materials including spatial models, furniture studies, elevations, plans, material studies, presentations, and documentation
  • Explore materials, finishes, fabrics, colors, and construction approaches for practical interior and furniture applications
  • Create high-quality visualizations to communicate design intent during internal reviews
  • Collaborate with the Head of Interior Design and creative team to respond to feedback and develop multiple options
  • Work with technical, procurement, architecture, and construction teams to transition approved concepts into implementation while protecting design intent
  • Partner with manufacturers, fabricators, and vendors to develop custom pieces, prototypes, and production-ready solutions
  • Contribute to the evolution of the furniture collection, FF&E language, and material palette across projects

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of professional experience across relevant disciplines (interior, furniture, product design, architecture, hospitality, or similar)
  • Portfolio showing strong interior environments plus furniture/product design and custom elements with sophisticated spatial thinking
  • Exceptional ability to model quickly in 3D and use 3D as part of everyday design practice
  • Strong 2D skills (plans, elevations, dimensions, detailing) and understanding of how design information transitions toward technical documentation
  • Experience designing custom furniture and built-in elements (banquettes, millwork, casegoods, tables, seating) with material/fabrication understanding
  • Strong knowledge of FF&E and furniture scale, proportion, composition, comfort, and how pieces contribute to the overall spatial experience
  • Deep sensitivity to materials and finishes (wood, stone, metal, upholstery, fabrics)
  • Comfort working at speed and iterating through multiple options
  • Maker’s mindset: inspiration → sketch → model → producible outcomes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across creative and technical disciplines in a fast-moving environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Furniture Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, or related field

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, plus parental leave
  • On-staff doctor, free therapy through SpringHealth, acupuncture, Employee Assistance Program, and other wellness offerings
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • 401(k) retirement plan; healthcare and dependent care FSAs; HSA-compatible options with annual employer HSA funding; pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Weekly catered lunches, wellness classes, and employee discounts on Flow hotel stays, grocer products, and merch
