Design System Designer

Senior • Remote

100 - 120 PLN/yr

Warsaw, MZ, Poland

As a Senior Design System Designer, you will join the core team responsible for the S4D (System for Design) design system. You will shape, maintain, and evolve the foundations, UI components, reusable patterns, and design tokens that enable consistent, accessible, and scalable digital experiences across a global portfolio of brands.

This is a highly hands-on role for a designer who natively thinks in components, Figma variables, library architecture, and multi-brand token structures. While you will not be required to write production code, you will work in close partnership with frontend engineers to ensure design assets are technically feasible, scalable, and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Evolution

  • Create, maintain, and scale accessible (WCAG 2.2 AA) and reusable UI components, patterns, and design foundations for the S4D system.

Libraries & Design Tokens Management

  • Optimize Figma library structures, managing variables, design tokens, and multi-brand token models across platforms.

Technical Documentation

  • Author clear, developer-facing usage guidelines, Do/Don’t examples, accessibility considerations, and implementation specs.

Operations & Governance

  • Partner with the Design System Lead on daily operations, reviewing system contributions, refining the backlog, and auditing library quality.

Collaboration & Advocacy

  • Work closely with Product Designers, Engineers, local product teams, and external agency partners to drive consistent S4D adoption and promote best practices.

Key Requirements (Must Have)

  • Design Systems Expertise: 5+ years of experience building, maintaining, and scaling enterprise-grade design systems, component libraries, or UX frameworks across multiple products and brands.
  • Advanced Figma Mastery: Deep expertise in component creation, variants, variables, design tokens, auto-layout, library maintenance, and governance workflows.
  • Tokens & Architecture Awareness: Hands-on knowledge of design tokens, multi-brand foundations, color systems, and the mapping between design files and code implementation.
  • Frontend Technical Awareness: Practical understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, React) to effectively evaluate implementation constraints with engineering teams.
  • Accessibility (a11y): Solid working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards with an accessibility-by-design mindset.
  • Agile & Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to justify design decisions, advocate for system thinking, and collaborate inside agile delivery teams.

Nice to Have

  • AI-Augmented Workflows: Practical experience using AI tools for design-to-code translation or component generation, with an understanding of their impact on quality and accessibility.
  • Multi-Brand & Multi-Platform Experience: Proven track record scaling design foundations across complex, multi-region digital ecosystems.
