Description

Maintain scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures for assigned departments. Coordinate with physicians’ offices and other related departments, verify room and equipment availability as required, and ensure accurate procedure documentation. Log completed procedures and may generate surgical procedure charge sheets while keeping the schedule current and error-free.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical services with physicians’ offices and other departments

• Verify room and equipment availability when required

• Document patient procedure and physician information; log completed procedures

• Maintain accuracy of the schedule and complete tasks within allotted time

• Generate a surgical procedure charge sheet when needed

• Perform additional related duties as requested by the manager

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED

• 2 years of recent experience

• Organizational and multitasking skills

• Intermediate computer skills, including data entry and scheduling programs

• Verbal and written communication skills; frequent contact with physicians, employees, patients, and patient families

• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and maintain standard workflow

• Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly with others

• Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions

• Active listening skills, including interpersonal and telephone communication

• Ability to handle multiple procedures and interruptions with moderate concentration
