Description

Maintains scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures for assigned neurosurgery and physiatry department(s). Coordinates surgical services with physicians’ offices and related departments, including verifying room and equipment availability when needed, and ensures accurate documentation and logging of patient procedures. Generates procedure charge sheets and completes additional related duties as requested by the manager, while keeping the schedule accurate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures
• Coordinate with physicians’ offices and related departments
• Verify room and equipment availability as needed
• Document patient procedure and physician information
• Log completed procedures; may generate surgical procedure charge sheets
• Perform additional duties as requested by the manager
• Ensure schedule accuracy

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• 2 years of recent relevant experience
• Intermediate computer skills (keyboarding, mouse movement, data entry, scheduling programs)
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to prioritize and complete assignments within allotted time
• Effective verbal and written communication; patience and compassion
• Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly with others
• Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions
• Active listening and effective telephone communication
• Ability to handle multiple procedures and interruptions throughout the day
