Quick Facts

  • Role: Staff Engineer, ASIC Analog Design (AI/CAD)

  • Focus: High-speed PHY and deep sub-micron analog design with AI-enabled automation

Description

You will support ASIC analog design on a team working on deep sub-micron, high-speed PHY. The role includes maintaining and improving analog environment tool flows (front-end and back-end), proposing circuit architectures, refining electrical specifications, and verifying designs via simulation. You will also contribute to AI enablement by maintaining knowledge graph information sources and exploring ways to improve efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a high-speed PHY analog design team on deep sub-micron technology nodes

  • Switch between environment maintenance, flow development, and schematic/layout designer tasks as needed

  • Enhance analog tools and resolve bugs in front-end and back-end tools and flows

  • Maintain knowledge graph, graphRAG, or other information sources to improve AI agent effectiveness

  • Explore new ways of working to improve efficiency and design quality

  • Propose circuit architectures and refine electrical specifications

  • Create schematics, verify designs through simulation, and present designs to the team

  • Present design choices, tradeoffs, and complex engineering ideas to both the design team and customers

  • Explore the design space and provide feedback on tradeoffs and specification requirements

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering

  • More than 6 years of ASIC analog design experience

  • Understanding of basic generative AI principles and interest in AI-enabled automation

  • Strong understanding of industry-standard tools and flows, including Cadence ADE and Spectre plus analog verification tools and advanced PDKs

  • Strong analog and mixed-signal (AMS) and deep understanding of transistor-level circuit behavior in deep sub-micron technologies

  • Knowledge of mismatch analysis, Monte Carlo methods, transistor-level noise analysis, device physics, and deep sub-micron issues

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans

  • Income protection programs for illness or injury

  • Paid family leave

  • Robust paid time-off and paid holidays
