Description

Design and build high-scale distributed systems and microservices in a cloud-native environment. Own long-term technical architecture strategy and roadmaps, define cross-system solutions, and ensure high standards in security, observability, and reliability. Mentor senior engineers and drive modern engineering initiatives such as DevOps and AI automation while delivering end-to-end solutions with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop architecture of distributed systems and microservices for high scale and reliability

• Contribute to building and evolving mission-critical systems

• Define and evolve long-term technical strategy and architectural roadmap

• Design cross-system solutions in cloud-native environments

• Maintain high standards in security, observability, and reliability

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Security, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions

• Mentor Senior Engineers and raise organizational technical standards

• Participate in zero-to-one initiatives and critical system refactoring

• Promote modern engineering practices: DevOps, AI automation, security by design

Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of experience designing and building highly available distributed systems

• Very good knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin and Spring Boot

• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native systems

• Experience with AWS (ECS, Fargate, Lambda or similar cloud services)

• Strong system design skills and ability to make architectural trade-offs (REST vs gRPC vs GraphQL, sync vs async, SQL vs NoSQL)

• Experience working in production environments with high scale and reliability requirements

• “You build it, you run it” approach; DevOps experience with CI/CD and Docker

• Security practices knowledge (JWT, OAuth2) and Shift Left Security approach

• Experience in regulated environments (fintech/banking is an advantage)

• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and business stakeholders (English min. B2+)

• Experience mentoring and operating at Staff/Principal/Senior engineer level with high impact

• Nice to have: experience using AI/ML tools in the development process (e.g., code generation, test automation, CI/CD automation)
