Description

You’ll build and own AI-enabled backend solutions that improve products and operations, starting from discovery through deployment and adoption. Using product and operational data, customer behavior, and feedback, you’ll clarify requirements, make trade-offs, and measure whether your work delivers intended value. You’ll use AI coding tools and agents to implement, evaluate, and harden production systems with strong reliability and cost/latency awareness.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product, Operations, Engineering, and users to understand needs, constraints, and success criteria using data to challenge workflows and experiments

• Tackle ambiguous problems by defining the problem with evidence and owning the solution through production adoption

• Build backend services, APIs, integrations, and automation connecting business workflows with existing systems

• Develop AI-enabled capabilities using models, business data, retrieval, structured outputs, and tool calling

• Build agentic workflows with bounded actions, clear permissions, and human review for consequential decisions

• Evaluate and improve AI behavior using representative cases and production feedback, balancing quality, reliability, latency, and cost

• Use AI coding tools and agents for implementation, debugging, testing, and learning while reviewing and remaining accountable for results

• Own deployment, monitoring, adoption, and follow-through; simplify systems and share practical guidance so others can deliver independently

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building and operating production backend systems

• Production experience with Go, including testing, concurrency, and maintainable service design

• Demonstrated delivery of production outcomes from ambiguous starting points

• Ability to understand business workflows, ask useful questions, and communicate technical trade-offs to nontechnical stakeholders

• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or automation (context management, retrieval, structured outputs, tool calling)

• Experience evaluating AI output, investigating failures, and improving prompts/data/models/workflows

• Understanding of AI risks such as hallucinations, prompt injection, and sensitive data exposure

• Effective use of AI coding tools with strong technical judgment, code review, and testing

• Ability to choose between AI and conventional software based on reliability, complexity, cost, and requirements

• Clear communication in English and comfort working with users and stakeholders
