Description

Provide a secure and safe environment for patients, visitors, physicians, personnel, and volunteers by patrolling and monitoring facility premises. Observe and report suspicious or unauthorized activities and unsafe conditions; handle access control, key control, and emergency response/notification. Assist with security-related services, including monitoring and restraining violent patients, and document incidents while coordinating with local law enforcement agencies.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• PSO – Proprietary Private Security Officer
• California BSIS regulatory training (verified by hiring manager): 8 hours Power to Arrest and Use of Force; 16 hours within 30 days; 16 hours within 6 months (40 hours initial training total)
• 8 hours annual refresher
• 1 year recent relevant experience
• Ability to write incident reports and read business correspondence and procedure manuals
• Approachable, open, professional, and positive presence
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Critical thinking and decisive judgment; follow established procedures; respond to routine and emergent situations
• Cultural sensitivity and respectful interaction with diverse patient, visitor, and staff populations
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals)
• Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
