Description

Patient-care-focused locum role providing inpatient pediatric neurosurgery coverage. You will work closely with residents and the neurosurgery team—round at the start of the day, review patient plans, evaluate patients needing follow-up, manage daily care, and support discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient pediatric neurosurgery patient care on the floor (APPs are not required to work in the OR)

• Round with the resident team at the beginning of the day

• Review patient plans and enter/manage orders

• Evaluate patients who require follow-up or additional assessment

• Manage daily inpatient patient care needs

• Assist with discharge planning and discharge orders

• Review and manage inpatient orders

• Collaborate with residents and the neurosurgery team

• Remove Hemovac and JP drains when qualified and experienced

Requirements

• Must be a Nurse Practitioner

• Board Certification in Neurosurgery required

• Active Massachusetts NP license required

• Minimum 1 year of Neurosurgery experience required

• Experience with inpatient neurosurgical patient care required

• Epic EMR experience

• Pediatric patient experience preferred

• Experience removing Hemovac/JP drains preferred
