Description

Locum Tenens Primary Care Nurse Practitioner needed in Chicago for a 13-week assignment starting 12/16/26. You will provide scheduled coverage with standard 8-hour shifts and no call in a float pool environment. Responsibilities include assessments, diagnosis and treatment, diagnostics ordering, medication management, patient education, documentation, and coordinated care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests

• Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions

• Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices

• Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty

• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care

• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly

Requirements

• MSN degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)

• Active and unencumbered APRN license in Illinois

• National NP certification in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., AANP)

• At least 1 year of relevant clinical experience (preferred)
