Business Analyst (AI & Straight-Through Processing)

Engagement: 4–6 months; start in 12/2026 or 01/2027; remote (80%) with on-site presence in Düsseldorf (20%).

Description

Act as an interface between business units and IT, supporting the functional and technical development of existing and new processes. Optimize and digitize operational processes to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction, with a strong focus on AI-based solutions and automation.

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze, and document business requirements from business areas
• Translate business requirements into implementable IT and digitalization concepts
• Moderate and steer workshops with stakeholders from business, operations, and IT
• Create business requirements, user stories, functional concepts, and process documentation
• Analyze and optimize existing business processes
• Support the introduction of innovative technologies and AI solutions
• Accompany implementation projects from requirements intake through go-live
• Coordinate with internal and external development teams
• Conduct reviews, acceptance, and quality assurance activities

Focus Areas

• AI & Automation: identify AI use cases in claims; define requirements for AI-supported processes; introduce and optimize AI capabilities for efficiency
• Invoice Checking: analyze and digitize existing invoice checking processes; define validation rules and workflows; implement automated plausibility and rule checks
• Straight-Through Processing (STP): identify candidate processes for automated handling; design end-to-end processes without manual intervention; improve process quality and reduce manual work
• Insurance Processes: optimize benefits and service processes; support digitization of assistance services; improve customer and partner communication across the customer journey

Requirements (Must-have)

• Several years of experience as a Requirements Engineer or Business Analyst
• Proven project experience in the insurance industry
• Experience collaborating with business departments and IT organizations
• Very good knowledge of requirements engineering and process management
• Experience creating functional concepts, user stories, and process models
• Excellent communication and workshop moderation skills
• German at C1 level
