Description

Own the direction and roadmap for payer connectivity products, including X12 and API connections, routing, load balancing, and connection monitoring/error handling. Lead product discovery and guide engineering priorities to build eligibility, remittance, and payer connectivity capabilities. Use customer research and payer response data to define product requirements and investment business cases, while applying HIPAA and X12 EDI standards across strategy, development, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Set product priorities for engineering teams delivering payer connectivity and related capabilities

• Lead product discovery for one of the key areas of the clearinghouse portfolio

• Develop data-driven requirements and business cases for initiatives such as new payer connections and new remittance data sources

• Partner with engineering and design leaders to evaluate trade-offs when adding new connections and data sources

• Present roadmaps to payers, health-system customers, and internal stakeholders; gather feedback and balance competing requests

• Apply AI and prototyping tools to accelerate discovery and incorporate responsible AI into the product

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience owning a product from start to finish

• Healthcare IT, revenue cycle management, EDI transaction processing, or related experience

• Strong preference for direct experience with eligibility (270/271), claim status (276/277), or remittance (835)

• Experience guiding an engineering team and owning a product roadmap

• Experience writing product requirements and using data, including AI-assisted analysis and tools such as chat-based assistants/agentic tools/Cursor

• Experience leading customer-facing meetings, presenting roadmaps, gathering feedback, and negotiating scope with customers and senior stakeholders

• Familiarity with HIPAA and X12 EDI standards

• Understanding of the clearinghouse competitive landscape (e.g., Waystar, Availity, Change Healthcare)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; advanced degree is a plus

• Reside in or near a designated collaboration hub
