Description

Own the vision, strategy, and execution for the Operational Data Platform, responsible for creating, transporting, and storing operational data so it’s available to downstream analytics or AI. Define the platform roadmap across event streaming and relational/NoSQL databases, ensure critical-path reliability and cost-efficiency, and set data-contract / schema standards at the point of data creation. Collaborate with Engineering Leads and cross-functional data producer and analytical teams to deliver measurable KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Operational Data Platform product vision and roadmap with the Engineering Lead

• Lead the cost-efficiency roadmap as a core KPI

• Maintain reliability using uptime targets and incident learning feedback into platform planning

• Champion data-contract and schema standards to improve downstream data quality

• Guide platform tooling decisions and consolidate technologies

• Define and maintain the handover contract with the Analytical Data Platform to ensure governance-ready data

• Act as the primary interface between the Operational Data Platform and data producers, translating needs into roadmap priorities

• Define, track, and report squad KPIs (cost efficiency, critical-path reliability, data-quality adoption)

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Product Manager with grounding in data infrastructure, data engineering, or backend platforms

• Comfort with streaming, messaging, and database architecture

• Working familiarity with event streaming and relational/NoSQL databases to discuss technical trade-offs

• Track record driving roadmaps and KPIs for technical/platform teams (cost, reliability, or data quality)

• Data-driven approach to prioritization and roadmap decisions supported by analytical tools/frameworks

• Strong collaboration and communication with engineering leads and key stakeholders

• Pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset to drive autonomous delivery and manage trade-offs in production environments
