Description

This position supports the Designated Education Officer (DEO) and Health Professions Education (HPE) leadership by conducting analyses, evaluations, and policy guidance to establish, maintain, and assess the quality of HPE programs and trainee care. The role coordinates disbursement agreement (DA) processes, administers special purpose academic funding and HPT reimbursement, and ensures compliance with VHA requirements. It also extracts and analyzes data from multiple sources to produce reports for ongoing monitoring and leadership decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Serve as disbursement coordinator; establish processes and ensure compliance with VHA Directive 1400.05 and related SOPs
• Coordinate VA–affiliate processes, including establishing DAs and validating multiple data sources
• Evaluate HPE programs and processes for discrepancies to ensure efficient, compliant operations and proper use of OAA resources
• Manage OAA special purpose academic fund and HPT reimbursement processes; synthesize trends and opportunities for leadership using graphs/flowcharts
• Complete and review monthly Educational Activity Record (EAR) consolidation and reimbursement calculations
• Advise HPE management and the OAA program office on complex HPE program and affiliate processes
• Extract, analyze, and organize data from multiple sources; produce reports for monitoring, OAA reporting, and special projects
• Stay current on new policies affecting budget, personnel, and procurement; provide recommendations to enhance HPE operations
