Description

The Supervisory Healthcare Education Specialist works with the education team to develop, provide, and evaluate training for an interdisciplinary staff and volunteers. The role blends administrative and technical supervision with curriculum and program development, project oversight, and education tracking using computer-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary technical and administrative supervision to subordinate staff

• Develop, modify, and/or interpret performance standards; appraise staff for consistent and equitable rating

• Periodically review position descriptions to ensure accuracy and effective personnel utilization

• Select or recommend candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments based on skills, qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO/diversity objectives

• Resolve complaints and refer serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management

• Plan, develop, evaluate, and revise program curricula

• Conduct fact-finding and analysis that supports research in areas of competence

• Develop or adapt training and materials for formal/informal course use

• Consult and guide facility staff to develop, extend, and improve the education program

• Arrange seminars and conferences; give lectures and participate in panel discussions

• Manage computer-based systems to enter, track, and report employee education for coordinated training programs

• Prepare budget requests, stimulate appropriate fiscal support, prepare program plans, and provide advice for program implementation

• Manage, lead, and oversee projects, including determining project requirements and technology capabilities to satisfy requirements
