Description

Advanced Medical Support Assistants provide administrative and scheduling support within Radiology Services to help ensure efficient clinic flow and direct patient care. You will confirm appointments, coordinate specialized examinations, enter clinical information and orders, and communicate pre-procedure preparations under the radiologist’s direction. The role also supports daily operations and quality assurance through follow-up on pending orders and patient no-shows.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage daily workflow to minimize patient waiting time and ensure efficient examination performance

• Confirm appointments by phone within 24 hours prior to scheduled visits

• Coordinate specialized examinations with advance preparation notices, equipment, and technologist availability

• Enter screening forms, clinical information, and orders; register patients for exams

• Communicate pre-procedure preparations to patients under radiologist direction

• Maintain effective daily Radiology Service operations and clinic schedule utilization

• Compile daily pending orders data and follow up on patient no-shows

• Interact daily with patients, families, radiologists, physicians, residents, ward clerks, Business Office employees, and visitors
