Description

Provide continuum quality routine patient care and rehabilitation to nursing home patients. You will examine, diagnose, and treat patients, order and interpret tests, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. You will also advise patients on prevention and coordinate specialist input when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients

• Ensure quality-of-care standards are met

• Diagnose and treat a variety of diseases in general practice

• Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information

• Document past medical, family, and social history; review of systems; examinations; medications; allergies; and an assessment/plan

• Order or execute tests and diagnostic imaging; analyze test reports and exam findings

• Administer or prescribe treatments; order lab and imaging tests to manage an immediate treatment plan

• Vaccinate patients to immunize against communicable diseases

• Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention methods

• Consult appropriate medical specialists and refer to subspecialists within the network when necessary

Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited college or university (required)

• New York State licensure (required)

• Board Eligible and/or Board Certified (required)

• Demonstrated clinical excellence (required)

• Nursing home experience (strongly preferred)
