Description

You will provide continuum quality routine patient care and rehabilitation for nursing home patients, including examining, diagnosing, and treating general practice conditions. The role includes maintaining accurate patient records, ordering and analyzing tests and diagnostic imaging, and administering or prescribing treatments. You will also vaccinate patients and advise on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention, referring to appropriate specialists as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients

• Manage and document patients’ care to ensure quality standards

• Diagnose and treat a variety of general practice diseases

• Examine patients using medical instruments and equipment

• Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information

• Document history (past medical, family, social), review of systems, examinations, medications, allergies, and assessment/plan

• Order or execute tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging

• Analyze test and exam reports to diagnose conditions

• Administer or prescribe treatments

• Order lab and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan

• Vaccinate patients to immunize against communicable diseases

• Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and methods for preventing disease

• Consult specialists when necessary; refer patients to subspecialists within the network

Requirements

• Medical degree conferred by an accredited college or university

• New York State licensure

• Board eligible and/or board certified

• Demonstrated clinical excellence

• Nursing home experience strongly preferred
