Description

Provide continuum quality routine patient care and rehabilitation in a nursing home setting. You will examine, diagnose, and treat patients, maintain accurate medical documentation, order and interpret tests and diagnostic imaging, and coordinate specialist consultations when needed. The role also includes patient counseling on prevention, diet, and hygiene to support quality care.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients
• Ensure fulfillment of the commitment to quality care
• Diagnose and treat a variety of diseases in general practice
• Examine patients using medical instruments and equipment
• Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information
• Document past medical, family, and social history; review of systems; examinations; medications; allergies; assessment and plan
• Order or execute tests, analyses, and diagnostic images
• Analyze test reports and examination findings to diagnose conditions
• Administer or prescribe treatments
• Order lab and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan
• Vaccinate patients to immunize against communicable diseases
• Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease
• Consult appropriate medical specialists when necessary and refer within the network

Requirements

• Medical degree conferred by an accredited college or university
• New York State licensure
• Board Eligible and/or Certified
• Demonstrated clinical excellence
• Nursing home experience strongly preferred
