Description

Provide continuum-quality routine patient care and rehabilitation for nursing home patients. You will examine, diagnose, and treat a variety of diseases, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and document comprehensive patient histories and care plans. You will also support preventive care such as vaccinations and counseling on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients
• Ensure quality-of-care commitments are fulfilled
• Use medical instruments and equipment to examine patients
• Collect, record, and maintain accurate patient information
• Document past medical, family, and social history; review of systems; examinations; medications; allergies; assessments and plans
• Order or execute tests, analyses, and diagnostic imaging
• Analyze reports and examination/test findings to diagnose conditions
• Administer or prescribe treatments and manage immediate care plans
• Order lab and imaging tests
• Vaccinate patients to prevent communicable diseases
• Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and methods for disease prevention
• Consult medical specialists when necessary and refer within the network

Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited college or university required
• New York State licensure required
• Board eligible and/or certified required
• Demonstrated clinical excellence
• Nursing home experience strongly preferred
