Description

You will provide daily Neurology Physician duties in an outpatient setting, including diagnosing complex medical problems through patient history, examinations, and neurological testing. The role involves ordering and interpreting neurological tests (including neuroimaging and spinal fluid studies), prescribing and managing treatments, and counseling patients on neurological disorders and home care instructions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex medical problems based on patient history, physical/cognitive exams, and neurological tests
• Counsel patients on neurological disorders
• Order neurological tests and interpret results from neuroimaging
• Prescribe and/or administer treatment and medication
• Order supportive care services
• Perform physical and neurological examinations
• Order diagnostic tests such as blood tests, spinal fluid tests, and imaging (e.g., MRIs)
• Develop and adapt treatment plans based on patient progress
• Communicate treatment plans and home care instructions

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• ABPN accreditation
• Specialty training in an accredited neurology residency program
• Active license, including current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current DEA and DPS registration for prescription writing
• Urgent care or Emergency Department experience
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
