Description

You will provide daily neurology physician care, diagnosing complex conditions, counseling patients, and developing treatment plans. The role includes ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and neuroimaging, prescribing or administering treatment and medication, and coordinating supportive and home-care instructions. Fellows and practicing physicians are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex medical problems using patient history, examinations, and neurological tests
• Counsel patients on neurological disorders and their background
• Order neurological tests and interpret neuroimaging results (including MRIs)
• Prescribe and/or administer treatment and medication
• Order supportive care services for patients
• Perform physical and neurological examinations
• Order diagnostic tests including blood tests and spinal fluid tests
• Develop, manage, and adapt treatment plans based on progress
• Communicate treatment plans and home-care instructions

Requirements

• MD or Doctor of Osteopathy
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• ABPN accreditation
• Specialty training in an accredited neurology residency program
• Active license and current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current DEA registration and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
