Description

Diagnose and treat complex neurological problems through thorough patient history, neurological testing, and exams. Order and interpret neurological tests (including neuroimaging such as MRIs and other diagnostics), counsel patients on conditions, and develop/manage individualized treatment plans. Provide supportive care and communicate treatment and home care instructions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex medical problems using history, examination, and neurological tests
• Counsel patients on neurological disorders
• Perform physical and neurological examinations
• Order neurological tests and interpret results, including neuroimaging
• Order diagnostic tests such as blood tests, spinal fluid tests, and imaging (e.g., MRIs)
• Prescribe and/or administer treatments and medications
• Develop, manage, and adapt treatment plans based on patient progress
• Order supportive care services
• Communicate treatment plans and home care instructions

Requirements

• MD or Doctor of Osteopathy
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• ABPN accreditation
• Specialty training in an accredited neurology residency program
• Active license
• Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current DEA and DPS registration for prescription writing
• Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
