Description

Design and develop electrical power distribution products for AWS data centers, covering medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, generators, busduct, transfer switches, power distribution cabinets, and related infrastructure. Lead product design through development and qualification, improve reliability and cost effectiveness, and validate designs via prototypes, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds. Coordinate with field engineering/commissioning and support manufacturing activities across multiple geographies.

Responsibilities

• Solicit customer input and define product design requirements
• Lead new product design, development, and qualification for critical power distribution equipment
• Develop Capex and Opex budgets with vendors, prototyping, testing, and tooling needs
• Specify electrical equipment and components with global suppliers and manufacturers; improve tier 2–3 supply chain resiliency
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and applicable federal/state/municipal requirements and building codes
• Validate designs through DFx and value engineering; update design and documentation across build stages
• Support field engineering/commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance
• Provide manufacturing support for new products on concurrent projects in multiple locations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas)
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
