Description

Lead a team responsible for the S3 Index request routing systems that maintain S3 object metadata. Drive the technical roadmap and deliver reliability and performance improvements for wildly varying access patterns and unprecedented load. You will collaborate with senior leaders and peer teams to support new features, performance optimization, and system decoupling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers while delivering critical S3 architecture components
• Drive the technical roadmap for S3 Index request routing
• Invent approaches to ensure correctness and optimize performance data flows through the S3 Object Request Plane
• Enable end-to-end data integrity and performance optimizations across S3 Request Plane, Index, and Storage systems
• Reduce coupling between systems accessing S3 objects
• Ensure operational excellence with metrics, monitoring, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams
• 3+ years designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
• 8+ years leading definition and development of multi-tier web services
• Knowledge of engineering practices across the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations)
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• 3+ years engineering team management experience
