Description

Lead a deeply technical engineering team to build and maintain programming language toolchains, shared libraries, and build tools used by nearly every service. Own the team roadmap and technical direction while ensuring backward compatibility, driving upgrades/deprecations for internal consumers, and staying aligned with upstream open-source projects. Deliver end-to-end development and operations for tools relied on by thousands of teams.

Responsibilities

• Create, prioritize, communicate, manage, and execute roadmaps, projects, and commitments
• Set measurable team goals and regularly communicate status on development, quality, operations, and system performance
• Improve processes to increase software development velocity and quality
• Lead operational strategy with defined metrics, improvements, and support
• Coach and mentor engineers to foster a continuous improvement culture

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
• 3+ years of Software Engineer/Software Developer (or related) experience
• Strong knowledge of practices across the full software/hardware/networks development lifecycle: coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and production/livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Additional Information

Base salary range: $184,900 – $250,200 annually (varies by location/experience). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
