Description

The Product Owner (PO) bridges Product Management and the development team, converting product strategy into epics/capabilities/features and ultimately manageable user stories. This PO prioritizes Precision design system UX/UI features and capabilities across a portfolio of mainframe products while acting as the voice of the customer. The role drives execution through Agile Release Train planning, backlog sequencing, and sprint-level acceptance authority.

Responsibilities

• Work with extended Product Management to align on roadmap priorities

• Operate the enterprise backlog model (Epics, Capabilities, Features, User Stories)

• Use PI Objectives and Iteration Goals to communicate plans and progress

• Establish and sequence backlog items based on priorities, events, and cross-team dependencies

• Coordinate with other Product Owners and system/shared services in Agile Release Train (ART) PI Planning

• Own Definition of Done (DoD) and set Acceptance Criteria; accept or reject completed user stories at sprint end

• Maintain ordered, detailed backlog items for the current and next iteration (meets team Definition of Ready)

• Communicate inter-team dependencies, risks, and manage information to enable exception-based management

• Engage customers: gather feedback, coordinate sprint reviews with relevant stakeholders, and handle escalated support cases

• Collaborate with Product Managers and engineering leadership to negotiate value-stream business priorities and decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of related experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience
