Description

Lead the Stage Fluids team responsible for the fluid system architecture and function across the vehicle. Apply thermofluids and system architecture expertise to guide hardware design, system analysis, manufacturing, validation, and operations, while owning verification and integrated readiness for flight.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-performing fluids product team aligned to program milestones

  • Define, scope, and schedule stage-level fluid architecture, requirements, and documentation for integrated testing readiness

  • Lead cross-functional interface definitions and negotiations with partner vehicle teams to ensure system integration

  • Drive clear team goals and accountability

  • Support sizing and 1D steady-state thermofluids analysis at system and component levels when needed

  • Define development, qualification, and acceptance testing scopes to reduce technical risk before vehicle-level integration

  • Participate in CONOPS development and review operational data to own fluid system operational philosophy and integrated vehicle testing execution

  • Mentor engineers and guide hardware owners to ensure systems meet fluid requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

  • 7+ years of relevant experience across at least one aerospace vehicle program lifecycle

  • Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams delivering successful hardware on complex, cross-functional projects

  • Demonstrated mentoring and technical leadership skills

  • Strong background in fluid system architecture, operations, and engineering fundamentals (thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer)

  • Proficient with one or more fluid or thermal modeling tools for compressible and incompressible fluid analysis

  • Experience using Matlab, Python, or C++ for data analysis or modeling

  • Direct experience designing or operating launch vehicle or spacecraft fluid or propulsion systems
