Description

The Empower System Engineer is accountable for the reliable, secure, and compliant operation and lifecycle management of the Empower CDS, NuGenesis, and Scitara systems and supporting infrastructure. The role partners with site Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and D&T teams to deliver stable QSC Lab services, execute changes and upgrades, and enable integrations across OT/IT layers in line with GxP requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide software development for Empower, NuGenesis, and Scitara
  • Support design of technical solutions and system architecture meeting customer, regulatory, and system requirements
  • Provide technical support for environments, connectivity, performance, availability, backups, and monitoring
  • Lead L3 troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions
  • Execute and/or lead upgrades, patches, hardening activities, and lifecycle refreshes aligned to site schedules and validation strategy
  • Coordinate with central Tech teams to support the underlying technology stack (servers/VMs, OS, network connectivity, databases, storage, identity/access)
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and robust backup/restore for CMDB components
  • Support validation and audit activities with technical input for qualification, change impact assessments, and evidence generation
  • Ensure configurations and changes meet data integrity expectations (e.g., ALCOA+), compliance, and security requirements
  • Design, implement, and support integrations between systems and the engineering/automation layer (equipment connectivity, interfaces, protocols)
  • Collaborate with Automation/Engineering teams to ensure robust, supportable OT/IT interfaces and clear ownership across boundaries
  • Create and maintain technical documentation (architecture, runbooks, SOP/WI, KBAs)
  • Improve service reliability through proactive monitoring, automation, and standardization across sites
  • Provide input and expertise to projects/development teams and support/coordinate technical deliverables

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5+ years systems engineering/platform support experience in manufacturing or other regulated environments
  • Demonstrable delivery of complex technical changes (upgrades, migrations, integrations, deployments) with controlled change/validation
  • Knowledge of Oracle SQL for querying, analysis, and data maintenance
  • Familiarity with Agile and SDLC ways of working
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes (incident/problem/change) with disciplined change execution
  • Familiarity with identity and access management concepts, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and logging/monitoring
  • Equipment connectivity, data acquisition, and interface troubleshooting across OT/IT boundaries
