Description

The Senior Systems Engineer designs and develops products and systems that meet customer requirements, providing technical leadership across the development lifecycle. The role translates customer needs into actionable technical specifications, oversees product design and implementation, manages schedule/budget execution, anticipates and mitigates technical risks, and performs verification and validation testing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect solutions and demonstrate working embedded systems and PC applications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure robust design and optimization of technical aspects of standard and customized products

  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to clarify requirements and schedules

  • Architect solutions, develop algorithms, and demonstrate embedded systems and PC application solutions

  • Refine and optimize solutions, documenting design constraints, risks, schedule, and cost

  • Organize and report status and action plans to the team and management

  • Ensure design process and documentation requirements are met

  • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and drive best practices

  • Support development of technology/product roadmaps and execution of strategies

  • Mentor others in developing best practices and emerging embedded systems technologies; support recruiting; collaborate with external partners and universities

Requirements

  • BS degree in Science or Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience creating and delivering system-level products, including embedded systems

  • Strongly desired: experience with imaging, vision systems, or RFID products

  • Exposure to software and hardware development best practices and continuous performance improvement

  • Hands-on technical problem-solving mindset across both hardware and software

  • Strong individual and group problem-solving skills

  • Cross-organizational communication and leadership

  • Ability to take requirements from test planning through test results

  • Detail-oriented ability to summarize and communicate effectively internally and with customers

  • Ability to use an oscilloscope and other standard electronics lab equipment

  • Ability to understand and define testing approaches

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global team environment

Benefits

  • Base pay range: $107,200–$163,300 per year (geographic region dependent)
