Description

Responsible for coordinating the technical aspects of base engine design to meet customer requirements, functional objectives, and quality targets. Scope includes base engine design and validation, with ownership of key technical decisions, timing plans, change notifications, and engine documentation. Leads cross-functional teams and drives robust solutions through root-cause analysis and execution of the engine mechanical development/validation plan across project phases.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and ensure compliance to the Stellantis Propulsion System Development Process (PDSP) for assigned engine programs; summarize technical inputs for recommendations and executive presentations
  • Approve technical decisions, timing plans, change notifications, bulletins, engine build books, and service manuals
  • Approve and execute the complete engine mechanical development/validation plan for all project phases
  • Serve as the main point of contact for engine-related issues for assigned projects
  • Lead global cross-functional teams through root-cause analysis and implementation of robust solutions
  • Lead Release Engineers and designers to meet assembly, sub-assembly, and component objectives for cost, weight, performance, quality, and timing
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives including supplier resourcing risk assessments
  • Ensure project commitments are achieved through adherence to program requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related degree field
  • Minimum 5 years of propulsion system related engineering and/or calibration experience
  • Understanding of phased gated launch processes for product development
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and prepare presentations for executive leadership
  • Strong cross-functional team management skills with superior written and oral skills
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously
