Description

Lead Continuous Improvement Engineering (CIE) teams supporting Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) and Power Factor Capacitor (PFCA) product lines. Maintain design standards, collaborate with the NPD team on new designs, and provide technical guidance across Manufacturing, Application Engineering, Quality, and New Product Development. Oversee and continuously improve the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process to ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards and requirements, and oversee continuous improvement of automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workload, productivity, and guidance for multiple CIE teams to ensure compliance with engineering design and drafting standards, manufacturing needs, and quality support
  • Manage incoming work and provide standards guidance to outside teams
  • Manage resources responsible for maintaining custom design programs for manufacturing and engineering systems
  • Lead multiple large projects (Cost Out, New Design, Product Improvement, part obsolescence and substitution) to completion within deadlines with little or no supervision
  • Provide design and technical assistance to plant support functions, field sales, and customers as needed
  • Lead Continuous Improvement activities within the CIE teams for all product lines
  • Manage resolution of quality issues related to CIE
  • Collaborate across the division with other CIE groups to resolve design, BOM, and technical questions; review product deviations and resolve unique/non-standard situations

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 5+ years mechanical design experience; ability to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship
  • Preferred: Master’s degree; experience interfacing with internal customers/departments; familiarity with object oriented programming languages; Six Sigma certification; advanced knowledge of manufacturing operations; prior experience managing others; Professional Engineering license
