Engineering Manager (IT Core)

Lead Agile/Scrum engineering teams responsible for the foundations and stability of core business systems, building high-availability, scalable solutions. Own delivery standards (Build) and operational stability (Run) by driving SDLC/CI-CD improvements, tracking Build & Run metrics, and eliminating technical debt and operational risks. Partner with Product Owners, architects, and operations to ensure architectural consistency and effective capacity planning.

Description

As an Engineering Manager in IT Core, you will manage engineering delivery for systems that underpin key business processes. Your focus is on setting delivery standards, improving team processes, and guaranteeing system availability required for global growth.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development teams (up to 15 people), including growth plans, motivation, performance reviews, and collaboration
• Drive Build: deliver roadmap priorities with Definition of Done, ensuring schedule and quality
• Guarantee Run stability: manage availability against SLA, minimize MTTR, and reduce technical debt
• Analyze and optimize processes by improving SDLC and CI/CD
• Identify and minimize project and operational risks, including single points of failure
• Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, and operations to understand requirements and maintain architectural alignment
• Plan capacity to balance new projects and maintenance work
• Continuously develop your skills and knowledge

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience managing a developers team in Agile/Scrum
• Experience as a Java developer or Tech Lead; deep understanding of architecture and technical challenges
• Experience leading multiple developer teams simultaneously (at least two)
• Experience using AI-powered tools that deliver measurable time savings and quality improvements
• Knowledge of distributed systems architecture and container environments (Docker, Kubernetes, OKD/OpenShift)
• Practical knowledge of SDLC and CI/CD, working with Build & Run metrics (SLA, MTTR, Velocity)
• Knowledge of design patterns and software architecture best practices
• Strong prioritization and decision-making skills aligned with business goals
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and build a culture of open communication and high engagement
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements
