Description

Lead end-to-end UX design and research for Hollow Metal efforts, owning experience strategy and key user journeys. You’ll guide complex cross-functional initiatives, define measurable KPIs, and ensure solutions are user-centered and aligned to product and business goals. The role also sets accessibility and design-quality standards (WCAG 2.2), extends the design system, and explores AI-assisted design practices responsibly.

Responsibilities

  • Own experience strategy and end-to-end design and research for all Hollow Metal initiatives

  • Lead complex initiatives spanning multiple features, workflows, and product experiences

  • Use generative research to inform product vision and roadmap; maintain an opportunity backlog

  • Define and track UX and experience KPIs to drive outcomes and prioritization

  • Conduct generative, formative, and summative research; synthesize findings into actionable recommendations

  • Facilitate decision-making and build consensus with stakeholders across product, engineering, and delivery

  • Define and maintain information architecture and design standards

  • Extend the design system with reusable assets and processes

  • Represent UX Services on cross-functional initiatives and align work to user needs

  • Set accessibility (WCAG 2.2) and design quality standards

  • Explore and responsibly adopt advanced AI-assisted design practices and tools

  • Shape team ceremonies, model storytelling and design rationale, and mentor designers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UX design experience leading work across multiple features/workflows/experiences in enterprise or mature startup environments

  • Portfolio demonstrating UX craft across interaction, visual, strategy, and research with measurable impact

  • Proven ability to define experience strategy for major product areas and establish standards for other designers

  • Strong skills creating UX artifacts (journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, research studies/readouts) and communicating user needs and business impact

  • Strong proficiency with generative, formative, and/or summative research and translating insights into actions

  • Strong understanding of information architecture and WCAG 2.2 accessibility

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor designers and coach cross-functional peers; build a culture of continuous learning

  • Mastery of design patterns for web and native mobile (iOS and Android) B2B & B2C software applications

  • Proficiency with Figma, Mural, Microsoft Teams; research tools such as Maze, Optimal Workshop, and Qualtrics

  • Comfort integrating AI-assisted tools into design workflows (e.g., Figma Make, Claude, GPT)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Psychology, Computer Science, or related UX field (Master’s preferred)

  • Compensation: Expected base salary range $110,150–$146,200 (based on skills and experience)
