Description

Lead and grow a transmission line engineering practice that supports electric utility clients nationwide. Provide operational management, technical oversight, staff development, financial performance, and strategic growth for the department. Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality engineering solutions across planning, design, analysis, and construction support.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop transmission line engineers, designers, and technical specialists; set expectations and conduct performance reviews

• Manage staffing, recruiting, hiring, workload forecasting, and resource allocation

• Oversee transmission line engineering delivery to ensure safety, schedule, budget, and quality compliance

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for complex transmission line projects

• Establish and improve engineering standards, QA/QC processes, and operational workflows

• Own operational performance: utilization, backlog, staffing forecasts, revenue targets, profitability, and financial performance

• Partner with project managers and business leaders to monitor performance and manage risks and constraints

• Build relationships with utility clients, contractors, and industry partners; support pursuits, proposal development, scope, negotiations, and client satisfaction

• Identify business growth and service expansion opportunities

• Champion safety, quality, compliance, and professional development programs
