Description

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services to deliver a complete, high-quality look. The role focuses on performance targets (service sales and productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance). You’ll perform a wide range of services, support salon operations, and continuously build product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, hair treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, brow services, and ear piercing (where applicable)

• Meet or exceed average weekly service sales and productivity goals and support retail and service sales goals, guest loyalty (including credit), and retail shrink goals

• Conduct product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest experience

• Support execution of in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives

• Stay informed about new and existing industry trends, products, and services, including ingredient and benefit knowledge

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and timely service for walk-in guests

• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program (including credit) and the Ulta Beauty app with guests

• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and comply with state board guidelines

• Use booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events

• Maintain outstanding operational standards (clean salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and assigned areas) and adhere to the dress code

• Use loss prevention best practices and complete other operational tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Cosmetology license

• Previous relevant work experience

• Proficiency with the latest salon techniques for multiple service categories (or aptitude to develop skills across all categories)

• Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals needed for technical work

• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products

• Developed communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and build clientele

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
