Description

Lead an engineering team in a manufacturing environment to guide projects from purchase order through shop documentation and support new product development through design standardization. Ensure safe, on-time, cost-effective, high-quality designs while driving continuous improvement and process automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and strategic leadership to the engineering department

  • Lead and mentor Mechanical Engineers, Technicians, Designers, and Drafters; foster continuous improvement and accountability

  • Oversee submittal creation to meet/exceed lead-time and quality goals; optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, quality, and manufacturability

  • Contribute to strategic planning; prepare departmental goals and monitor performance alignment

  • Champion continuous improvement of engineering processes (automation, design standardization, productivity)

  • Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and operations to support sales requests, troubleshoot post-shipment issues, and drive quality initiatives that reduce costs and improve reliability

  • Coordinate engineering schedules, prioritize projects based on sales and capacity, and manage departmental budgets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum 7 years of management experience overseeing an engineering department within a manufacturing operation

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in capital equipment

  • Sound knowledge and experience with desiccant and refrigeration technology (highly desired)

  • Strong leadership capabilities with ability to develop and build high-performing teams

  • Exceptional technical knowledge and ability to find high-value solutions for new challenges

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Customer-focused mindset and customer service principles

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage high-stress situations calmly

  • Authorized to work in the United States now and for the foreseeable future; no OPT/H1B sponsorship
