• Position Description: Temporary full-time engineering role supporting product manufacturing with costing of production processes, materials, and capital equipment.

• Assignment: Occurs during the summer semester; lasts for the fall term.

Description

This position supports product manufacturing by working on production costing and related engineering activities across manufacturing, new product release, and product quotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Production

  • Review new product release process and complete labor routing
  • Enhance engineering tools and processes to make engineering functions more efficient
  • Conduct plant labor audits or time studies
  • Gain SAP software experience working with production systems

• Product Quotation

  • Review and purchase tooling and equipment
  • Develop and adhere to timelines
  • Document and follow APQP process requirements

• Collaborate with others on problem-solving activities

• Become familiar with products and processes used within the department and/or company

Required Education & Qualifications

• Senior standing in an industrial or mechanical engineering degree program
• Strong engineering skills
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Self-motivated and eager to learn
• Good decision-making skills
• Mechanically inclined
• Dedicated to quality and safety
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary
